User Agreement

This document explains what's expected of anyone using Mythoscript and what responsibilities Mythoscript accepts in return.

1. Acceptance of Agreement

By accessing or using Mythoscript, you agree to be bound by this User Agreement, our Privacy Policy, and any posted updates. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

Mythoscript is intended for users at least 13 years old or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. Users under 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian, who by permitting access accepts this Agreement on the minor's behalf.

3. Permitted Use

Mythoscript is provided for personal, tabletop-gaming purposes such as creating and managing characters, campaigns, encounters, and in-app marketplace actions.

  • You may share screenshots or recordings for personal or educational use.
  • You may not resell, redistribute, white-label, or offer Mythoscript as a commercial service without written permission.
  • All use must comply with this Agreement and applicable laws.

Future Monetization & Grandfathering. Mythoscript may introduce optional paid plans or premium features in future versions of Mythoscript. Existing users will retain access to all features that were free at the time they registered ("grandfathered access"), unless those features rely on third-party costs or are discontinued for legal or technical reasons. Use of new paid features will always be voluntary and subject to clear, separate terms.

4. Prohibited Activities

Users may not, under any circumstances:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts.
  • Scrape, copy at scale, reverse-engineer, or circumvent security measures.
  • Upload or distribute malware, bots, or automated abuse tools.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation with Mythoscript.
  • Use Mythoscript to harass, threaten, dox, or exploit others.
  • Interfere with service integrity (e.g., excessive load or denial-of-service).
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations while using the service.

5. Your Content (User-Generated Content)

You retain ownership of the characters, campaigns, notes, and other materials you create in Mythoscript ("User Content"). You grant Mythoscript a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process your User Content solely to operate and improve Mythoscript (for example, syncing data, backups, or abuse prevention).

You are responsible for the legality of your User Content. Do not upload material that infringes others' rights or violates this Agreement or the Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The Mythoscript platform—including its code, design, and branding—is owned by Mythoscript. Except for limited rights expressly granted here, no license is provided to copy, modify, or create derivative works of Mythoscript without written consent.

Users retain ownership of their own User Content. By submitting feedback or ideas, you grant Mythoscript a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use or ignore that feedback for any purpose without obligation or attribution.

Dungeons & Dragons and related terms are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC.Mythoscript is a fan-made utility not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. Rules content derived from SRD 5.1 is available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

7. Copyright Infringement & DMCA

Mythoscript respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Mythoscript infringes your copyright, please submit a written notice to support@mythoscript.app containing:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
  • Identification of the infringing material and its location on Mythoscript
  • Your contact information (address, phone, email)
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorized
  • A statement that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  • Your physical or electronic signature

We will investigate valid DMCA notices and remove infringing content where appropriate. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.

8. Third-Party Services & Compliance

Mythoscript relies on third-party providers (e.g., Supabase for authentication and database, Vercel for hosting, and SMTP for account email). Their own terms apply. We are not responsible for external content or outages.

Users agree not to access or use Mythoscript in jurisdictions where doing so would violate applicable export-control or sanctions laws.

9. Disclaimer of Warranty

Mythoscript is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or rule correctness.Mythoscript is a convenience tool and not a certified rules authority. All use is at your own discretion and risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mythoscript, its contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of Mythoscript, even if advised of such possibility. While we take reasonable precautions, no guarantee is made that user data will be stored or recoverable. Users are responsible for maintaining their own backups.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mythoscript, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of Mythoscript; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of this Agreement; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.

12. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Mythoscript at any time, with or without notice, if we believe a user violates this Agreement, threatens service integrity, or engages in unlawful activity. No compensation is owed for terminated access. You may close your account at any time as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt informal resolution via written notice to support@mythoscript.app. If unresolved after 30 days, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration or small-claims court in state and federal courts located in Texas, USA.

Sections relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute resolution survive termination of this Agreement.

14. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Mythoscriptregarding Mythoscript and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings.

Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the rest of this Agreement remains in full force and effect.

No Waiver

The failure of Mythoscript to enforce any right or provision of this Agreement will not be considered a waiver of those rights. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative.

Assignment

You may not assign or transfer this Agreement or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign this Agreement without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force Majeure

Mythoscript shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, network infrastructure failures, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor, or materials.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update this Agreement as Mythoscript evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will change accordingly, and we may provide in-app notice when appropriate. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
